Always be prepared
Opportunities don't come with an advance meeting invite notification. You would never know on when it knocks your door so be prepared and constantly learn new skills.
Always be prepared for work case scenarios.
I read this incident somewhere of a college student who was presenting a seminar with an old overhead projector. Now this is not the modern one but the first generation device that projects transparent paper content placed on a glass surface. There is a bulb fixed on the projector that help illuminate the paper or slide on to the projection screen with a lens.
In the midway during the presentation the bulb lost its life. The admin did not have a spare bulb and when everyone around were wondering what to do the student picked up a new bulb from his bag. He was prepared for this situation when everyone else have obviously missed.
Learn new skills constantly. You would never know when you one need one.
