Elon Musk's view of the future

When Elon Musk was 22 he wanted to solve the 5 most important problems back then.

But when asked what were the top 5 problems he would be working on if he was 22 now we got a view of the future from his minds.

Below is an excerpts of his interview from the youtube channel Y Combinator.

AI - Artificial Intelligence according to him would be the single biggest item. We really need to make sure it goes right.

The next one would be genetics and solving genetic diseases preventing dementia or Alzheimer's disease that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior.

And thirdly high-bandwidth interface to the brain. Improving the interface between the cortex and that tertiary digital form of yourself.

When asked what made him set apart to have a big impact when he was young, extremely ambitious and different from the rest of his batch his answer was pretty simple, but powerful.

What can I do that would actually be useful?

Figuring out what we are trying to create and how many people would that affect would help answer the question if we were asking it to our-self. Though the idea might sound crazy or fearful you have to believe in it so that you pursue it in-spite of your fears.

Speaking of fear Elon says fear is just normal and absence of it would be abnormal. Once you understand the possibilities of a failure and face it fear diminishes.

And to conclude this note with his view on what you can do for the next big thing.

Ideas doesn't have to be big and change the world.
It can be small, something that is useful to the society and some amount of good to people.
